Flying Nerd not dead, just resting

Fresh posts have been few and far between for the last few weeks and may be spasmodic for the next few as well.

Leading up to last Saturday, 29 Oct 2005, I was busily compiling and editing a video for the Macquarie Anglican Churches Vision Dinner. For the next few weeks, I am studying and preparing for my next Moore College Preliminary Theological Certificate exam.

The dinner was held to build support for our vision: Embracing living hope: diverse communities gathering, growing and delighting in Christ, and to welcome the new Macquarie Anglican Korean Congregation. Most attending seemed to think it was a great night, filled with encouragement and good fellowship.

The video I prepared was a montage showing the many ways in which the Parish is seeking to ‘live out’ the vision. I received many kind comments about the video, which seems to have achieved its goal: to help people become aware of the breadth and depth of gospel-based activity in the Parish.

I’ll post soon with some notes about the technical aspects of preparing the video, which I did with the newly released Ulead MediaStudio Pro 8.

Richard, the video was great. Thanks again for all the work. Zog’s wife would particularly like to thank for for the inclusion of the attractive shot of her setting up video equipment on the beacj in the rain, wearing her father-in-law’s attractive jacket so as not to freeze!

All the best for the exam – 2 key verses for the Intro to the Bible exam are 2 Cor 1:20 (‘all the promises of God find their ‘Yes’ in Jesus’); and Luke 24:44 where Jesus says that the law, prophets and psalms are fulfilled in him. You will be very aware of the latter from the ’40 Days’ preaching series!

It’s not pinin’, it’s passed on! This parrot is no more! It has ceased to be! It’s expired and gone to meet its maker! THIS IS A LATE PARROT. It’s a stiff. Bereft of life, it rests in peace, if you hadn’t nailed it to the perch it would be pushing up the daisies! It’s rung down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! THIS IS AN EX-PARROT!
