I have a copy of the journal 'Kategoria' which has bit about him, and annual lecture that now runs bearing his name.

Peter Jensen was the inaugural Smith Lecturer.

The journal also has an article by Bruce Smith, and some of his poetry.

Will lend it to you for your spare time reading.

Big thumbs up for the late Bruce Smith!

I've listened to his session on the rich man and Lazarus. This is quality teaching. And it contains concrete warnings for expositors and Bible readers in terms of thinking about what the passage really means compared to what we might like to make it mean. In particular, Smith warns about falsely concluding that a PARABLE is an ALLEGORY.

(As well as the message), I particularly enjoyed Smith's clarity of expression and intelligent choice of words. It's not a style that would suit most youth or young adult congregations, but I love it!

Recommended listening.

Now, who can tell me more about Bruce Smith?

Sorry, I saw them in the mp3 library, not in the podcast section. Maybe a bit more fiddly, but definitely worth the effort, imho.

Richard, you might look at Odeo (http://www.odeo.com) it's a site which allows you to subscribe to and manage podcasts online. The Odeo Syncr downloads your sync list. It creates a Playlist in Windows Media Player, or iTunes called "Odeo"... my point is... when it downloads the file it is supposed to set the Genre for the file as "Podcast", which I'm guessing would allow you to find them on your Karma.

Neil, I seem to have iPodder just about sorted now for loading mp3s into the directory that gets transferred into my Rio Karma HDD player (probably one of less than 10 of this device in Australia!). I just wish I could figure out a way to have all the Podcasts tagged in some way so that I can easily find them on my player... in amongst 15GB of music. The Karma lists tracks according to id3 tags -- but I haven't yet found an automatic way of getting all the Podcasts into one place for easy finding and selection. If you see what I mean.

Neil, that's good, 'cos I've just downloaded it to catch the sydang podcast, and haven't bought an mp3 player yet, and wasn't sure if I wasn't limiting myself to iPods!

Hey Nerd-meister, who you calling yella'?
