Telstra’s not ALL bad

Telstra recently upgraded my cable service — they say speeds may be as high as 30Mbps.

According to my latest test, I can download (subject to network traffic as usual) at 35Mbps. Wow.

What do you need the 30Mbps service for?
I’ve bumped my plan up for the school holidays to the 25Gb download limit, but I’ve never found anything that I need more speed for than the normal 8-10Mbps service. Sure, might download a 1080p Apple QuickTime trailer a little (ok, lot) quicker.

I don’t! But the faster upload (that comes with the fast download package) is very nice for VoIP, posting photos on the net or just about anything, really!

    Happy new year Simon!

Of course… I forgot about that. The slow upload speed on standard cable is frustrating.

Hey, FN, just saw the picture of FN and Nerdette and Nerdlets on the Matthias Media Merry Christmas post: http://matthiasmedia.com.au/briefing/chn/5074/

No wonder you haven’t been posting – the whole family looks like they have been busy editing or writing or packing boxes… 😉
