Richard - stumbled on this topic while reading the F1 rant. Interesting question on why you like it. I too am finding "Classic Hits" a little dull. I find that driving around with kids in the car (listening to kids music) or to/from work with 702 ABC (grown-up news and talk stuff), and not watching Rage on weekends, I don't get exposed to new music. When I do hear it I take notice. What was that? Who is that? When I find out I check it out in the music shops or on the web. I rarely buy or download, just want to know who it was so that I feel like I have learned something! I recently made a complilation CD for the car and it contained everything from Madame Butterfly to U2 to Moby. I have no idea what I like. I do know that I don't like black/hip-hop/rap - whatever genre that is.
